All of our animals are taken care of exclusively by our family, Jarred, Jaime, our daughters Addison and Zoey.  Jarred grew up being involved with farming, and cattle with his parents. His interest in cattle became a passion when he started 4H at the age of 10. It is such a pleasure for all of us to be involved in caring for our animals. Our true interest in raising grass-fed beef was sparked from a very close relative who became diagnosed with cancer. Throughout their battle they became enlightened about grass-fed meats and organics, and the powers of how what you eat can heal your body. Therefore our journey with raising grass-fed beef began.

 

Our herd mainly consists of Angus Crossbred Cattle. All of our cattle we sell are born here at the farm from our own cows, or from our fellow neighboring pastured based farms. Even during gestation their main source of food is grass. We are so delighted that our passion has given us the opportunity to provide healthy lives for both animals and consumers.

 

At this time, we will not be offering grass-fed beef for the remainder of 2016 or 2017. Please keep checking back for new opportunities.

*Please note pricing includes all cuts of meat. Steaks, Roast, Ground Beef, ect.

 

Our prices are based upon hanging weight of steer. Average hanging weight is between 600-500lbs.

 All of our customers get to call directly to the Butcher Shop to customize their order to desired cuts and packaging weight! The Butcher Shop we use is Country Village Meats located in Sublette, IL 1-815-849-5532. Country Village Meats is a small, family owned and operated business. We recommend the following for processing- Filets, Rib-eye, T- Bone, Rolled Rump Roasts, Round Tip Roasts, Chuck Roasts, Stew Meat, Soup Bones, Beef Brats, Summer Sausage, Ground Beef Packages. Customers are not limited to this you can other Cuts, Organs, Bones, Ribs, ect. The amount of take home meat will depend on how you have it processed. Average amount of packaged edible meat produced is between 60%-70% of hanging weight.  Butcher fees will vary with the weight of the animal and your desired processing.  Per ¼ steer processing fee is generally $90.00-$100.00.

A typical family of four can easily consume ½ steer in a year. Our family consists of 2 adults and two young girls, we get a whole steer processed for a year. Please give us a call or email with any questions you may have.
